Open Letter to Pirates

Dear Management of the Pirates,

Step back and take a deep breath. Did you smell that? Do you feel that?

PLAYOFF HOCKEY

Do you know what that means?

HAPPY FANS WHO BUY MERCHANDISE AND TICKETS.

Just to make this easier to understand for you.... I know there is only one language you idiots speak.

WINNING = MONEY

Do you understand that? Do see how excited people are that the pirates are in 2nd place? Look around. Smell the excitement and joy in the air. Note the large numbers of people who willing sit outside the arena to watch the hockey game on the big screen because the tickets are (wait for it) SOLD OUT.

LETS GO PENS!!!!!!

And damn it Pirates, take notes and try to have a winning season. Please.

p.s. I still hate 4square.

GO PENS! CONGRATULATIONS!!

I missed the parade and couldn't take any pic's cause I was too exhausted from the weekend to do anything. I couldn't get out of bed Monday morning.... Stupid insomnia.

With out further delay:
Pascal Dupuis's New Tattoo from the PG Online:

CONGRATULATIONS To the STANLEY CUP CHAMPS: PITTSBURGH PENGUINS!!

WOOO!!! F*&%, You Detroit Whiners!!! How do YOU like watching another team win the Cup on your ice? HUH? Sucks doesn't it? HAHAHA!! Kiss my ass!! Your fans booed like crybabies. Your players acted like sore losers complaining about missed handshakes, when there are PICTURES proving you wrong (dumb ass zetterberg). And Marion Hossa? Screw you! Go find your next cup contender and Pittsburgh doesn't want you here.

2 Superbowls and a Stanley Cup? A girl can't get much happier. Screw the Pirates. Of course, I think they will get a parade if they can get a winning season together.

Stanely Cup Finals (and other bitching)

Here we go. Detroit and Pittsburgh go at it again. I want a CUP damn IT!

Pens Sweep Carolina

Honestly, I was not surprised that we swept Carolina. When we reached 5,6 and 7 goals in a game, I knew Pens were in a ZONE. We faced super hard and major rivals in Philly and Washington. Now we face our 3rd biggest rival these days: Detroit. I think we are a better team than last year. I think that we can we win it in 6 games.

A rant:
I have serious issues with Mr My Teeth Are A White Beacon. You always root for the hometown when it is sports. Especially Pittsburgh sports. The ONLY exception is the Damn Pirates cause they live in the world of SUCK. Apparently, I am not the only one who is pissed.

He grew up here, he coached here, he won a Superbowl here, he was talked up as being a huge Pens fan. But suddenly he is "Raleigh's Own"?? Oh Carolina, you forgot to mention what City he coached to a Superbowl. That's right... the same city that beat your ASS in 4 games.

PITTSBURGH. Don't you f&%$ing forget it.

Here is what other new outlets are sayin:
USA Today:
Pittsburgh fans angry Bill Cowher supported Hurricanes over Penguins

Trib
Cowher sounds the siren for his Hurricanes (the death siren, that is)

Cranking the Hurricanes' warning siren with his right hand and grasping a white Carolina rally towel with his left hand — sans his Super Bowl XL ring — Bill Cowher no longer bleeds black and gold.

Cowher did admit that he would jump on the Penguins' bandwagon if the Hurricanes were eliminated.
"I'll take this white (Carolina rally towel) and replace it with a gold one," he said. "Absolutely. I'm an Eastern Conference guy. Whichever of these teams comes out, I'll be pulling for them.

That second quote was after it became apparent that we were stomping on Carolina. And while I am at it, I am so f&%$ing sick of every city having a "rally towel" or some other bullshit to copy PITTSBURGH. Your all losers.
Let's give Bill a f&%$ing Detroit crying towel or whatever the hell they have so that they will lose too. I don't want him cheering for us. Only real Pittsburgh fans are allowed here.

Random Thoughts

I just want to say I was totally stoked to watch the Capitals give up last night. I never imagined we would score 6 points in such a decisive fashion. There were power play goals, even strength goals, breakaway goals, even one that stuck in the net that nobody saw at first. So, yeah... AWESOME

We have played 2 of our biggest rivals in this conference and WON. Take that Flyers! Take that Capitals! I rather enjoyed the nostalgia of slamming the Caps out of the Cup finals. 9 times we have faced them and 8 times we have sent them home crying....

Maybe later I will go find some storied of the Capitals crying and make fun of them here.... stay tuned.

My charity bowling event is tomorrow night for work, and while I have raised exactly $0 online, I have I have sold some gas raffle tickets and I have $45 of my $50 goal at this point. So, thank you to Amy, Julie, Cathy, Chris and Mark for helping to make my hilariously bad bowling possible tomorrow evening at princess lanes. It benefits a good program to help kids excel. :-)

Sports Odds n Ends

First up:
CONGRATULATIONS to the Pens for sending the Flyers home.

I am glad to see them cry on their way back to Philly... Especially after last year's playoffs when they accused us of throwing the end of the season to avoid playing them.

Also, welcome Dan Bylsma as the New (for real) Head Coach. Congrats to you as well. :-)

Second up:

Pirates? Who? What record?
They are 11-8 and still in second place, what a shocker. However, they have to play the Brewers 2 more times. If they drop those games in as horrible a fashion as the first (10-5), they will be dangerously close to .500. Honestly, I would really like to see the Pirates have a winning record, even if they miss the playoffs. We don't want to continue the Pittsburgh version of the Detroit Lions here. SRSLY.

Third up:

I am a huge Steeler Fan, but I will not discuss draft pics here. I'll leave that to the guys over at Blitzburgh Blog. Personally, until preseason starts I don't pay a lot of attention. Too much changes, injuries and roster cuts to be considered. I just don't have time blog about it.

I have a wicked cold (no it's not pig flu) so there may be a lull in posts.

Lets Go Pens!!

I have been very quiet about the Pens recently. I didn't want to jinx their incredible run to 4th place an home ice for the first round. I'm very proud of our team an i will be posting some more sports related stuff tonight. Good Luck on your first game guys!!

Randomness

After plowing thru 5 Stephenie Meyers novels (4 of them were the Twlight series) in the last 2 months... I need a break. I have been neglecting the blog because the last 2 books I read were borrowed and I was under a deadline to read them. So, on to random shit.

Julia has, by some minor miracle started sleeping thru the night again. For a while she was waking at 2-3am and coming down into our room. Sometimes crying, sometimes not. There is no room for a 3rd person in my bed. So, I was making her sleep on the sofa when she came down. I don't know if she decided that her bed was more comfortable or if the routine finally eased her fear that we had not run away... It doesn't matter. I just know that its nice not to tiptoe around the house when I am trying to get ready for work. And I am not so sleep deprived as I was.

I am pleased that the weather has warmed up. Even if it is for a few days. I really am sick to death of 14 degrees.

I am on Twitter now. See the feed on the left over there? Unlike some of the people I follow, I usually only update twitter once or twice a day. I just don't have time for more than that right now. So, don't be disappointed. K?

I have accepted that the Pens are not going to make the playoffs or will be eliminated in the first round. Our defense is just horridand our offense is not much better despite the wins. The players we lost could not be matched by the players we signed. It happens.

Damn Penguins

Barely a month after I posted this:

Dumb Questions

I read this: Bylsma named coach as Pens fire Therrien

I am sad. I like Therrien and I dont think the coach was the problem. I think this a a player problem, a defense problem. Teams can have bad a bad year.... I think it was jumping the gun.

Random and less bitchy :-)

I am much better today. :-) The rage has passed for the moment... lol.

I am stoked that the Pen's came out and Beat the Ranger's asses!! Way to go guys!
I managed to make it to work with out killing my self. This is an accomplishment. Anyone who knows me, know I fall down. ALOT.
I am also stoked to see the lovely, talented, Hilarious as all hell Pitt Girl posting for a limited time over at http://haveagoodsandwich.org/ If you don't find her funny... your retarded.

Oh--
Road Crews Working To Clear Pittsburgh Streets
Yeah, you guys suck. My road still looks like shit and its a pretty busy street. Epic Fail.

I won't mention how stupid this was:
Police: Latrobe Teen Put M-80 Between Thighs To Muffle Explosion

I'll leave you with this:
Phoenix Mayor Blows Nose In 'Terrible Towel' Then Apologizes

Wow. these dumb asses never learn. Ask Tennessee, Dallas, Cincinnati about dissing the towel. It brings the Curse of Cope.

I'm gonna try to enjoy my day off. Hopefully my kid doesn't have her terrorist mode on

Dumb Questions *updated*

I feel bad for the Penguins. I really do. They are struggling so bad. I think that they need a team building event. Something to bond them. I am talking stuck in a 2 room shack with 12 inches of snow where you have to get along or everyone is gonna die, type of Something... (LOL) but these kinds of stupid questions are NOT what they need:

From the PG: Therrien still feels secure despite 7th loss in past 8 games
Penguins coach Michel Therrien has watched his team lose seven of its past eight games and tumble to 10th in the Eastern Conference standings.

He knows as well as anyone that something has to change -- dramatically and quickly -- if the Penguins are to salvage their season.

But, when asked in the wake of the Penguins' 5-3 loss to Colorado at the Pepsi Center yesterday if he felt his job security is an issue, Therrien made it clear that he doesn't believe it is. Or should be.

"No," he said. "Why? I'm not worried about that."

No coach has complete control over his fate, of course, but general manager Ray Shero repeatedly has said that replacing Therrien is not on his radar.

UM. HELLO!!! The last thing the players need is to worry their head coach is going to get fired because they can't get their act together. And also... do you really want your head coach to be all "Yeah, I think I'm getting canned after this season. Sorry, I am a shitty coach guys."

WTF? NO, you don't!

I don't want my NHL head coach to be some sissy boy panzy worried about himself more than his team! Therrien is NOT a sissy boy panzy. He will call out a player. The problem is we are playing so poorly he has to call out almost the whole damn team right now. And a Team problem it is... make no mistake. A coach can't go out there and play for them. These losses are not all his fault.

So Reporters, quit asking stupid questions.

Fans, Stop emailing the same stupid questions.

Penguins (Like any of them read this stupid little blog of mine right?), sit down, take a deep breath, forget the season so far and start playing like the talented pros that you are.

P.S. See, I'm not *totally* crazy about the team bonding thing... Dave Molinari Agrees with me. A little anyway:

Q: I think everyone would agree that the Penguins are missing something, whether it's chemistry, grit or lack of production from some guys who are counted on for production. My question is, do you think not being able to attend their boot camp at West Point has been a factor in their lack of chemistry or grit this season? I think going through that allowed them to get comfortable and rely on each other in tough times.

Brian Finnigan, Boardman, Ohio

MOLINARI: Not spending a few days at the U.S. Military Academy had zero impact on the Penguins' grit -- it not as if, say, Miroslav Satan would have been transformed into a win-or-die-trying warrior if he'd been able to put in a few quality hours on the obstacle course -- but there's no question the team-building time they spent there in 2006 and 2007 contributed to exceptional camaraderie the Penguins had.

Even so, a visit to West Point does not come with a guarantee of success. If it did, 30 teams would be booking a trip there every autumn.

Oh and Marty from Windber, PA... Since Dave couldn't say it, so I will: Your a MORON. Nobody wants an ASS like Avery. Come on, the NHL suspended him! How often does the NHL suspend players? SRSLY!!!! Dumb ass.
