I will continue to boycott and otherwise ignore the Pirates. Being one of the cheapest payrolls in the league I don't buy this crap. Not even a little.

Pirates say signing Mientkiewicz now unlikely

Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said today he is unlikely to bring back popular utilityman Doug Mientkiewicz because of the signing today of free-agent outfielder Eric Hinske

Hinske can play all four of the positions -- first base, third base, left field, right field -- that Mientkiewicz played for the Pirates last season.

So what. With all the SUCK on that team, they can use GOOD players.
